Take me back to 2006. At the beginning of that year, the influential businessman Franti\u0161ek Mr\u00e1zek was shot, Mirek Topol\u00e1nek and his ODS party won the elections to the Chamber of Deputies, the world was moved by the premiere of the film The Da Vinci Code in Cannes and the pinnacle of technology was the ability to play MP3 files and videos on mobile phones such as the Sony Ericsson K800i or the very popular Nokia 6233. <\/p>\n\n

That’s pretty prehistoric, isn’t it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Now imagine that this is the year of the last participation of the Czech national team in the “Mundial”. In case you missed the term, it’s a global term for the World Cup. <\/p>\n\n

Our goal was defended by Petr \u010cech, the newly twenty-four-year-old goalkeeper of Chelsea in London, still without his iconic helmet. The defence was led by Zden\u011bk Grygera from Ajax in the Netherlands, while in the midfield, names like Karel Poborsk\u00fd, the little Mozart Tom\u00e1\u0161 Rosick\u00fd and the Ballon d’Or winner Pavel Nedv\u011bd impressed with their play. And in attack, the now legendary Koller-Baros duo was in charge. <\/p>\n\n
